John Parise's Lab Group Website: Crystallography
Among our interests is the study of atomic structural changes that accompany variation in composition, temperature, and pressure.

Richard J. Reeder's Lab Group Website: Mineral-Water Interface Geochemistry
The study of reaction mechanisms and molecular-scale structure at mineral-water interfaces is the central focus of research activities in our geochemistry group.

Martin Schoonen's Lab Group Website: Aqueous Geochemistry
Understanding geochemical and environmental processes at the molecular scale is the objective of most of the projects in the group .

Seismology and Tectonics Lab-Lianxing Wen, Bill Holt
A primary focus in the seismology and tectonics lab is the determination of detailed three dimensional earth structure, from the core to the surface, and related studies on the dynamics that drives mantle convection, deformation of the lithosphere, and plate tectonics in general. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research and collaboration to understand the structure, composition, and dynamics of the Earth's interior, as well as the driving forces for plate movements and deformations.

Groundwater Research Group
The Groundwater Research Group is a group of graduate students from Stony Brook University working with Gil Hanson on groundwater problems in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. We have created this web site to employ the importance of studying Long Island groundwater.

Bill Holt's Lab Group
Information about all our research, figures, useful links, etc.

Bill Holt: Kinematics and Dynamics of the Lithosphere
The main efforts of this research lab are devoted to the understanding of the kinematics and dynamics of crustal deformation in (diffuse) plate boundary zones.

Isotope Lab-Gil Hanson, Scott McLennan, Troy Rasbury
The primary focus of the Isotope lab is to use isotope and trace element compositions to tell the history of geological materials. Current research conducted in the lab includes dating the time of sedimentation with paleosol calcite, determining the paleo-pH of seawater, and tracing the source of contaminants in Long Island groundwater. The group members include three faculty from the Department of Geosciences and graduate students from Geosciences, Anthropological Sciences, and the Marine Science Research Center at Stony Brook.

Brian Phillips' Lab Group Website-Geochemistry, Environmental, and Molecular Science
The Phillips' lab focuses on oxygen exchange kinetics of aqueous complexes and reactivity of mineral surfaces; application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy for kinetic measurements and characterization of mineral surface and bulk structure.
